THE MIGRATION
Memory and warmth spoken,
Softly, softly escape your lips,
To hold each other tightly
Somewhere above the dust.
From sunrise a glow arose
Afloat around morning birds
Clasping years on either side,
Certain someone would awaken.
Asleep, yet still in dreaming,
And this has been all my life.
I want to take you in my skin,
You, the colour that was missing.
ONE SEVENTEEN
Wrestling with the tree
The world lost it's leaves,
Now so little is left
How I wish I were God.
A long bright light remains,
Flowers upon a path,
They are now the stars,
Ribbons in a hope chest.
Sleeping constellations
Eventually hiding away,
Infinite yet insubstantial,
I would've made it just so.
WHEN CHANGE COMES
In stillness I follow nature
In this moment, be what it may
Luminous or gathering
The rains are over now
The struggling upstream finished,
Far off there's silver lining
As winds of change blow
As blossoms bloom and grow
Send me something shining
Give birth to colour
Give love and safe harbour
I am steady, as a rock.
WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSE
Last night, heat of today,
All in transitory starlight
Dawning so close to Earth.
Constellations in motion,
We passed that evening
As soon as the Sun melted.
Our heartlines kissed
Unseen, bearing such light,
We shared, endless abundance.
930
Seven, the days of creation
Show me our cracks afresh,
The branches and veins merge
Become my heart, my hearth.
Open the gates to surely see
Inside Prometheus was lost
Through all rumbling storms,
My irregular rhythms stolen.
I awoke soft from dreams,
One of my ribs was gone,
Carried off by Heaven's winds
Leaving a hole deep inside.
Frail and unprotected, born,
As unweeded as this garden,
Overgrown appetites hung
Upon branches over Eden.
Two trees opposed my stars,
Under one I found you, Eve,
A sweet smile upon those lips
And a shining apple in hand.
THE FIRST TIME
Floating beyond trees,
Full and orange - the moon,
A headlight rarely used.
Mist unrolled a scarf
Adrift on county causeways,
Drawn to Her warmth.
From the backseat
Genevan accordians serenaded,
That night we first met.
THAT EARLY MOON
Shy eyes,
An early moon curves
Twilight softly.
Hands trace
Stars through the maze,
Touching lightly.
Oh graceful eclipse
Constellations upon ink,
We both sigh slightly.
Newly arisen dawn,
Between fire and space kiss
Our love brightly.
SUMMER CABIN
The autumn wind had blown
As heavy as this old world
Upon my slowing chest.
Our cabin now lies vacant,
Serene windows curtained
With spider-stitched shadows.
I'd sat alone here many times,
Yet your stone angel smiles still,
At two cups forever on our table.

Dance with me,
when the moon is full,
feel the earth beneath your toes,
following the rhythm of the stars,
dance in joy that we are.
Dance with me,
when random winds drift,
in their currents our spirits lift,
spinning rising in turbulent motion,
anointing us with devotion.
Dance with me,
when cool rain drops fall,
cleansed we weave enthralled,
as Mother's water washes through,
we sway our energies renew.
Dance with me,
when the sun is bright,
warm rays flowing to our delight,
pulling energy down to Earth,
bringing forth life's rebirth.
Excerpt from Murder Mystery #3
He & I part company finally. We have been going from Broughty Ferry to Inverness.
I have come to a new found respect for men who lived and labored in the icy winds beside the North Sea and I understand their fascination with the watery light of noon and the soft light of dawn before the gloom of afternoon.
I've stood on the firths as they must have done, waiting for moonrise, and I've found a measure of peace.
If these cities are haunted--and it is likely that they are, given the blood spilled here--they have been kind to another traveler as I pass unseen. Or do they stand behind me at a distance, watchful u
LOVE IS......
The muddy guest who arrives
Uninvited to soil your clean,
Crisp self-sufficiency.
The odorless, tasteless, noiseless
Gas that permeates your soul
Till you succumb to its joys.
The wind that rages haphazardly
Till you can't catch your breath.
Or the breeze that gently whispers.
Whatever form it takes, Smile,
You have felt something rich
Passing by.
YOU ARE.....
The match that lights my incense....
The words of a long-forgotten melody.
The best piece of chocolate...
In the box saved for last.
The bright and shiny coin that I
Hide away to view alone.
You make me smile with happiness.
I cherish you, My Love.
A TRIBUTE TO YOU
I saw a star fall.............white, silvery.
It landed in a spot just over the horizon.
I heard a melody.........brightest gold.
It played just out of earshot.
I sensed another being........soft, sensual.
Almost within my reach.
I looked.
I listened.
I felt.
I opened my arms..........you appeared.
All the magic of the world glistened into
What had to be YOU!

17.2.
If I have to drive on your highways nightly
and slip your barstool keys
into my pocket
I will.
I will
climb into the driver's seat and take you home
because your tendency to tumble
could fly you apart.
Don't tempt me
because I love you
and I want my children
to know your twinkle-eyed smirk,
your joyous affection.
I remember you.
You stumbled home under cloud-whipped starlight, knee
shattered, battered and broken by men with authority
but no compassion.
I know you.
I know the cleverness of you
—your cheeks flush at every opportunity.
—you dwell, a willow still weeping, despite spring,
about winter's bite,
like I
OUT OF THE PAST/INTO THE FUTURE
SHE sprang out of the past.
HE exploded from the future.
SHE was a child of the old ways.
HE desired flying rockets.
SHE loved the Ancients.
HE adored the New Wave.
SHE had no future.
HE had no past.
The Universe wavered, caught them in coils.
So INTRIGUING.........BEGUILING.
THEY have danced to the PAST......
Played to the FUTURE.
THEY are laughing, crying CHILDREN.......
Loving in their own special NOW!
Message to a Boy
Dear Boy,
I'm sending you this message, with a gift included
I know you may not want it
Maybe you'll say it's a burden
I'm sorry to inconvenience you, but I don't have a choice
I've sent my heart to you
Wrapped up tight in layers of love
It'll be shaken, maybe a little rattled
But just treat it nice
The scars have names printed across them
My heart tries not to forget
The bruises are new and soon will fade
There's no need to worry about those
Dear Boy
My heart is not fragile; it's not made of china
But please, please try not to drop it
I have only one, so should you break this one
There is no spare
Do you
NEWPORT FISHING
The abyss disappears,
disappears in chasms dreaming,
shimmering and gloomy.
Upon merchant pulses
the moon, stale waves
and barracudas howl.
Boats sag, rejoicing,
floating as fat reflections
In the empty waters.
Mists depart, fish panic
then moist buckets slip
and swirling seagulls bleed.

Sorry folks that I haven't been around in quite some time to check out some of your work but have been busy trying to help my mom who was fighting Pancreatic Cancer...It is with a heavy heart that tell everyone that passed away on the 24th of February...I miss her dearly and just wanted to try to let some of her friends and artists know of this sad news...
Thank you for your input. I will not forget to dedicate the book to you. After all, it was you who suggested the name and gave me the courage to continue!
